Essendon football operations manager Paul Hamilton took time out of his busy schedule yesterday to visit past player Robert Fox and present him with his playing guernsey. Rob was the 668th player to pull on the boots for Essendon. He played at Centre Half Forward, amassed 52 games and kicked 34 goals between 1955 and 1957. He said he was pleased that the club took the time to remember the past players and believed it was a good initiative. The club had lost contact with Rob until the keen eyes of WA Bombers veteran Ian Carswell spotted him living across the road. Ian made some inquiries with Barry Capuano at the past players association and the rest is history. Paul said that the Essendon past players association was more professional than any other club he had been associated with and they were now getting some of the retired players back to windy hill to have a kick with the current players at training. He said the current playing group just loved having some of the old timers around. Robs' family was at his home to share the experience and the family was clearly proud of his achievements. Well done Rob. The WA Bombers salute you!
